Named after Ebenezer Bryce who built a road into the canyon to collect wood for fires and house building, the name of Bryce Canyon now conjures up images of towering pinnacles lit by a fiery sun.

Offering spectacular views and countless possibilities for photographers, California Highway 1 is one of the most scenic roads in all of the United States and is a favourite weekend getaway for Andre Gunther.

This beautiful area is not as well-visited as its famous neighbours of Bryce Canyon and Arches, however there is plenty to photograph here. The 8-mile scenic drive from the visitor’s centre gives you a good impression of what the park has to offer.
