PHOTOGRAPHER'S PROFILE

Klemens Gann is an underwater marine wildlife videographer located in the Philippines. He started diving in Koh Tao, Thailand in 1993 and has logged well in excess of 4000 Dives. Underwater videography became his passion in 2004 and through the years he has used several different camera and housing systems to capture the rich underwater realm on video. He now films in HD format and has a stunning footage variety ranging form scenery shots, soft corals and animal behaviour to the rarest creatures our wide oceans have to offer. PHOTO LOCATION: Pescador Island, Moalboal, Philippines

ABOUT THE LOCATION This small island facing Panagsama Beach offers an impressive variety of corals and is arguably the best wall dive in the Moalboal area. A shallow reef shelf that varies in depth from 3 - 8 m surrounds Pescador Island and offers soft-and hard coral. Then the wall drops off to depths of 40 m and more. A special feature for video- and photo taking is the "Pescador cathedral" with its wide chimney that starts at 18m and opens at 30m where you can exit. Encounters with white tip reef sharks are possible.

TIPS FOR THE PHOTOGRAPHER
What to photograph: White tip reef sharks, Pescador kathedral, sardines, lionfish, schools of sardines, snappers, scorpionfish. When to photograph: Any time of the day makes a good photo/video opportunity. In the morning you have the better light condition, but in the afternoon there are less divers on the reef. Photography tips: This is a site with a bit of everything, so wide angle video as well as macro photography promise good results. Choose your lens according to the visibility.

		Where it is: Pescador Island located opposite Panagsama Beach and is reached by banka boat in less than 10 min. How to get there: International Airline carriers like Singapore, Malaysia and Cathay Pacific offering flights to Cebu, From here you can reach Moalboal, which is 90 km located south west, by car. Accommodation: There are plenty resorts in the Moalboal area, which offer swimming pool, restaurant, coffee shop and internet access within their vicinity. Some offer underwater DVD's from the area. What to take/ Other info: Most of the marine creatures are not stationary on this side, so check back with the local Divemaster where to locate your photo/video subject.
