PHOTO LOCATION: Pushkar Camel Fair, Rajasthan, India

Pushkar Camel Fair

ABOUT THE LOCATION

Pushkar is a small town in Rajasthan, the colourful desert state. Once a year during Kartik Purnima, the first full moon in the months of October-November, this small and quiet town is transformed into the biggest camel fair in the world, with some 200,000 people and 50,000 camels gathering on the famous fair grounds. Although the trade between the camel drivers of the Thar desert is the main activity, the bazaars, the Ferris wheels, magicians, soothsayers, storytellers, and handicraft vendors add to the excitement and together with the brilliantly decorated Rajasthani people and camels, Pushkar is transformed into a fairy-tale and photogenic location par excellence.
TIPS FOR THE PHOTOGRAPHER
