ABOUT THE LOCATION

The cultural diversity of Singapore has created pockets of small neighbourhoods which seem to blend seemlessly into the daily life of modern Singapore. One of these areas is little India, where you’ll find yourself wandering through small alleys surrounded by Hindu music stores blasting out ethnic sounds, or by pungent smells of colourful spices. You can truly experience a sense of India here, and all these Indian street adventures provide plenty of photographic excitement. Apart from unusual shops and costumes, not to mention the culinary delights, one of the highlights has to be the magnificent Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple. Dating from 1855, the temple has had several facelifts and updates over the years including beautifully decorated outer shrines and an impressive 20 m high gopuram carpeted with colourful statues. |
