FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is the difference between NTSC and PAL?
There are 2 different systems in the world for DVD's: NTSC and PAL.

Most of the DVD's we sell on our site are in the NTSC format. Although this is known as the 'American standard' these DVD's play in the majority of DVD players worldwide. Most of our own Ambient Collection DVD's are also available in the 'European format' - PAL. When ordering a DVD you will automatically be sent the correct format for the country you live in.

There are just a few DVD's which are only available in PAL. If this is the case, they will be clearly marked as 'PAL only'.

How can I resize my photos?
Some Windows computers may have Microsoft Photo Editor already installed. If you do, here's how to resize a photo:

1. Open the image in Microsoft Photo Editor.
2. Click on the 'Image' menu and click on 'Resize'.
3. If you have not already done so, enter Pixels as the Units value.
4. Enter the number of pixels you want in the box. (For a thumb, type in 100 as the highest value.)
5. Click OK.
6. Now click on the 'File' menu and click on 'Save As'. Make sure you use the .jpg format.
7. Give the file a new name.
8. Click OK and you're done.

If you have a digital camera then it's likely that your "camera to computer" software program also allows you to resize your photos. Photoshop Elements is one of the programs that's often provided. And if you can afford it then Adobe Photoshop is an excellent program to buy.

To resize photos in Photoshop:

1. Open the image in Photoshop.
2. Click on the 'Image' menu and click on 'Image Size'.
3. Under Pixel Dimensions, if you have not already done so, change the unit from percent to pixels.
4. Fill in the number of pixels you want under Width or Height. (For a thumb, type in 100 as the highest value.)
5. Check that the Resolution is 72 pixels/inch and that Constrain Proportions is ticked.
6. Click OK.
7. Now click on the 'File' menu and click on 'Save As'. Make sure you use the Format jpeg.
8. Give the file a new name.
9. Click OK and you're done.
How do I find a website page's deep link URL?
Depending on how your site has been set up, you may not see the full URL (or page address) in your internet browswer's address bar. If this is the case, open the page in Internet Explorer and right click somewhere in a blank bit in the page. Choose 'Open Page in New Window' from the resulting menu and you should then see the full page URL in the Explorer's address bar.
Why aren't all galleries accepted into your Guest Gallery Directory?
There are a few reasons why we don't put every gallery in our links directory. The main reasons being:

- The gallery includes photos from more than one country (country submission)
- The gallery includes photos showing more than one theme (category submission)
- There is not enough information about where the photos are taken
- The image, scanning or uploading quality is too low
- The gallery is not on your own site
- The content is not suitable (e.g. too many personal photographs)
- The site is too commercial
Why are there no photo credits by the pictures on your site?
Apart from the Guest Photo Location Reports (which are clearly marked) and the thumbnails of the Guest Galleries, all photographs on this site were taken by one photographer, Tony Helsloot. The copyright for all these photos is held by Isis Visuals which is the company of Tony Helsloot and Liz Jones.
